Metabolism is referred as the rate at which person’s body burns calories for energy. The speed of metabolism depends on various factors such as age, physical activity levels, routine and genetics and other factors. In general and simple words, regular meals, good tight sleep, and exercise may all help to boost metabolism. However, the word metabolism is often used to describe your basal metabolic rate, or the number of calories your body burns at rest. The Metabolic rate and the calories burn at rest are directly proportional. The higher the metabolic rate, the more number of calories will burn.

Now, as per research, there are many proven ways through which metabolism of the body can be boosted. So here is the list of ways.

Have a protein rich diet

Actually, few studies have come up with the fact that high protein rich diet causes the increase in TEF(thermic effect of food) and it is caused by the extra calories required to digest, absorb, and process the nutrients in your meal. Dietary protein requires 20 to 30% of its usable energy to be expended for metabolism. So, eating more protein can boost your metabolism so that you burn more calories.

Stress could also have an indirect impact by affecting eating patterns and sleep, both of which can alter the rate of metabolism.

Get good tight sleep

It has been found that People who take good tight sleep every night have a higher metabolic rate, and people with less sleep may have a lower metabolic rate. It is recommended that one must sleep for atleast 7 hours a day.

Coffee

It has been found that caffeine in coffee can help to boost metabolism on temporarily basis.
